Avalanche transceiver training

Situated at 1900 m, close to the Marmottons chairlift, an area of 3 hectares reproduces the environment of an avalanche accident. This permits the users to train with an avalanche transceiver / DVA.

It’s as easy as this !

A box, connected by three plugs, allows the user to operate (from a distance) as many as 11 fake DVA which are held in a rucksack protected with foam.

This system allows the user to imagine these different scenarios : one or many victims, close or far away, one or many rescuers, in a limited time, by ski or by foot, etc.

It is important to remember that the sacks must be left buried. The test is confirmed only with a probe !

Open to the public

It is possible to reserve the park each tuesday. A pisteur / ski patrol will ensure the operation of the park for you. However it is necessary to have a tranceiver / DVA and a probe. The shovel is not to be used !

Information and reservation can be found the day before at the Poste de Secours at Lognan 33(0)4 50 54 04 73. Avaibility can be limited by these reservations.

History

The DVA park at Grands Montets is the result of a partnership between the company Salewa France, BCA Tracker (distributer of avalanche tranceivers), the Ecole National de Ski et d’Alpinisme, the Compagnie du Mont-Blanc, the Chamoniarde and the Service des Pistes at Grands Montets.
